Hey Todd:

Been awhile since I picked up the boards, but I wanted to let you know that they both work unreal.

I have never had boards that are so light and responsive as this. Especially like the Pig and have surfed it in head high waves.

Been on that board alot. Waiting for a little more juice to get the Accelerator going, but so far I am totally satisfied. I think you dialed in exactly what I needed in both boards and it feels like my surfing has gone to the next level. The rest of my boards are just collecting dust right now!

And thanks for the personal service. Best custom service I have had.

You have a great operation and I like that fact that you treat everyone with equal respect and attention. I will be coming back for more, if these Proxy’s ever give out!

Off to Costa Rica next month and will send you some photos. Wanted to check to make sure there
are no issues with the Proxy’s when traveling or in the heat. Let me know if they require any special
care.

Best to you and Charissa.

jay rice mug Jay Rice is a great surfer that doesn’t follow the crowd. A San Clemente local who surfs for all the right reasons as far as I’m concerned. Everytime I surf with
Jay he’s always stoked just to be in the water & has a positive outlook in general. You wouldn’t think it by looking at him though. Usually dressed in
black with no labels, except for the
occasional underground punk band or some obscure core symbol you’ve never seen before. I think he shopped once at an
army surplus store or
thrift shop
& I don’t think he’s
bought new clothes since.
I can’t tell you how many times
I’ve been surfing & the recognized rippers are
out with all the latest stickers on their boards; photographers on the beach…
and here comes Jay blowin’ up under the radar…

the heads turn and they say “who was that?”

the board I make for Jay is available as one of our shortboard models. We’re calling it the “BLACKBIRD”.

The “Blackbird” is a lively, spry backfooted bugga’. Developed around San Clemente’s variety
of waves; it loves points, reefs, and beachbreaks alike. It has a heavy single concave through the tail which gives it controlled release in the lip to re-engage for fins-free type of maneuvers, airs, reverses…

i haven’t ridden anything else for 10 years…

HEY,

HOPE YOU GUYS ARE DOING GREAT. JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW HOW GOOD YOUR BOARDS WORKED FOR ME .

GOT BACK FROM COSTA RICA TWO WEEKS AGO, TOOK THE 6′4″ AND THE 7′0″ WITH ME. RODE THE 6′4″ ALL OVER THE PLACE FROM WAIST TO HEAD HIGH AND I WAS SO CONFIDENT ON IT. AFTER BEING OUT OF THE WATER FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS THAT BOARD MADE ME CATCH UP WITH MY SURFING. BEST BOARD I EVER OWNED. RODE THE 7′0″ IN HEAD HIGH WAVES IN PLAYA HERMOSA. IT WAS SO EASY TO PADDLE ON BIGGER WAVES AND AFTER DROPING IN IT’S JUST SO FAST.

WHEN I GOT BACK TO FLORIDA I HEARD WE HAD A STORM BRINGING SOME SWELL . BEING MY FIRST SWELL IN FLORIDA I STARTED ASKING ALL THE LOCAL KIDS HOW BIG IT WAS GOING TO GET AND THEY WERE ALL SAYING DOUBLE OVER HEAD WHICH WAS !@#$%^&*. SO I DECIDED TO BUY A BOARD ON ONE OF THE LOCAL SHOPS. BOUGHT A 6′6″ SHARP EYE BIG GUY BOARD, WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING? I DON’T KNOW IF IT WAS THE BOARD OR ME( HOPEFULLY IS WAS THE BOARD, HAHAHA) BUT DEFINITELY I DID NOT HAVE FUN IN THE WATER. THE BOARD HAD NO STABILITY AT ALL WHEN I WAS BEGINING TO STAND UP.DEFINITELY GETTING RID OF IT.

DECIDED TO GO BACK WITH MY 6′4″ PROCTOR AND I SURFED SO GOOD I EVEN GOT BARRELED IN MAYPORT POLES, WHICH I THINK IS THE BEST WAVE I RIDDEN IN FLORIDA.

WELL, I’M GOING OUT TO SEA FOR SEVEN MONTHS IN TWO WEEKS SO I’M PLANNING ON LOOSING A LOT OF WEIGHT SO I CAN ORDER A BRAND NEW THREE BOARD QUIVER FROM YOU GUYS AND TAKE THEM BACK HOME TO PUERTO RICO WHEN I’M DONE IN THE NAVY. THANKS FOR SHAPING ME THESE TWO AWESOME BOARDS. I’LL BE CALLING YOU GUYS FROM SOMEWHERE OVERSEAS TO PLACE MY ORDER AND HAVE MY NEW BOARDS BY THE TIME I GET BACK TO THE STATES.

TAKE CARE AND WISH YOU GUYS THE BEST.
