Hey Todd and Charissa,
This is Jeff.

You guys customed me a lil’ rascal end of last season.

I just wanted to write you guys an email and let you know that so far this season it has been epic. The board rips, and is super fun. So glad my sister hooked that up.

My skill level has jumped tenfold

and my stoke even more!

Now on to business….
Within the next probably three to four months I am thinking about picking up a shortboard. With the results I had from dealing with Proctor I am for sure going to be getting it through you guys. The only thing I am unsure of is what exactly I am looking for. Like I said before my skill has jumped but I dont think I am out of the beginner woods just yet. Basically any info you could throw at me in regards to what I should be looking at would be awesome. No rush! I know you guys have a lot on your plates. I’m basically looking to keep developing skill wise, and step up to some bigger waves and bigger challenges.

I hope this email finds you both in good health, and better spirits.
-Jeff

As you know, Todd shaped a Little Rascal for me about a year ago, so this is a relatively long-term review. I had always ridden longboards prior to getting the Rascal, so Todd made it large (7’3). It was a little bit of a jump from a 9′ board, but not bad.

Since that time, the Rascal has gotten to be my “all around” board.

It handles anything from knee high summer waves

to well overhead winter swell.

I found that I like riding it as a quad, because it holds well even on big surf and is really fast. The quads give the board a lot of drive and allow it to make sections that I cannot make on my shortboard thruster.

All of my longboard riding friends love the Rascal.

Todd built the Rascal as a Proxy and it has held up very well. To this point, it doesn’t even have heel dents on the top and virtually looks new. Since I’m retired, I ride this board almost every day, so that is really saying something about the longevity of these boards.

This board became a transition board to ride thrusters and small fish.

I no longer ride a longboard,

because this board is just so much more fun.

It does everything my thruster (by another well known California shaper) does, only better. It is definitely my “go to” board for all conditions and travel.

Working with you and Todd has been great. Thank you for all of your help.

Todd,

Just writing to thank you for helping me take my surfing to the next level.
I now thankfully own three custom proctors surfboards.

Today,

I especially thank you for what has come to be

my go to board for

almost any conditions: The Rascal.

I thought it was going to

mainly be the small wave board.

Boy was I wrong.

If I am not sure how the surf is going to be, (never relying 100% on the reports as we all know) I grab the rascal.

Why?

I know it won’t let me down.

This thing works well for me in all conditions from small, fun waves, to peppy Santa Clara river mouth, to well overhead Pt Dume.

Cheers to the shaper who really works with the surfer. ( Not just pros)

Best regards,

Todd & Charissa,

Just wanted to drop you guys a line and let you know how impressed I am with the Lil Rascal you made for me. After the swell on Thursday calmed down I took the board out to C-Street.

First off, you hit the nail on the head

when you described this board as fast.

The first few waves I caught ended with the board shooting out from under me since it was accelerating so fast. After a while thought I started to get the hang of it and eventually got a few rides where I felt in control.

I also love how responsive this board is,

it reacts to any little movement.

Going from a 9′2 longboard to the

6′6 Lil Rascal worried me a bit, but

Todd’s recommendation of this board was spot on.

Thanks again you guys, I’m hoping to be back in a few months for Todd’s input and to get started on another board.

Take Care,

Hope all is well.

Just wanted to forward a few pics of the Rascal in Indo.

These were actually taken last year but just got them on the last trip.

The Rascal II is going great by the way!

Didn’t ride it too much on the most recent trip because the waves were pumping most of the time.

I let a few of the other guys ride it and they had a blast!

Just sending you a quick note to tell you my grovler 4 worked really well during this past swell we had here. It was about six to eight on Sayurday and the felt like the board was made for these type of waves. On Sunday the swell peaked and I felt like I could have used some more board because it was BIG!!! What would you recommend for me? On Monday when the swell backed off I jumped on my rascal and caught the most waves I have ever caught. Anyway. I am still in the market for the falcon. I will be ordering that soon. I just bought a house at the beach and now I am so broke. Back to work in a few days so we will get that going soon. Look foward to hearing back from you.

Todd,

Hey! It’s Craig In New York. Just sending you a quick note to tell you my groveler 4 worked really well during this past swell we had here.

It was about six to eight on Saturday and it felt

like the board was made for these type of waves.

On Sunday the swell peaked and I felt like I could have used some more board because it was BIG!!! What would you recommend for me?

On Monday when the swell backed off I jumped

on my rascal and caught the most waves

I have ever caught.

Anyway. I am still in the market for the falcon. I will be ordering that soon. I just bought a house at the beach and now I am so broke. Back to work in a few days so we will get that going soon. Look foward to hearing back from you.

Todd and Charissa Proctor,

I got the board that was shaped for me last Wednesday. It looks great, and it arrived on time and unharmed. Of course I couldn’t wait for a 2 foot mushy summer day to take it out, so the following Saturday when a shoulder high swell rolled in I gave it a first spin. To sum things up, the board rips.

It’s fast down the line, feels just right rail to rail,

and catches everything!

I think anyone considering a fish for their quiver should seriously consider the lil’ rascal. The conditions were hollow early on and the

board practically paddled itself into waves.

Later in the day the winds turned onshore, and even when the waves got mushy the board performed at the same level. I was really impressed.

I also wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed working with both of you. The entire process was really smooth and easy and I would not hesitate to come to Proctor Surfboards again for another magical board. Shouldn’t be long until i’m looking for a new performance board!

Take care,
